Evening swim in England's smallest city!
Itching to get another pool on the list after last week’s four-pool sprint! The fantastic weather is holding out, and we’re into our third week of blue skies and long hot days of sun!
I’m down in Clevedon Monday - Wednesday this week, and I’m slowly making my way through the selection of Somerset public swimming pools. I have my eye on the 50m pool at Millfield School in Street, but public swim sessions are rare, so for now, I’ll make do with the Wells Sport & Fitness leisure centre.
The pool is half lanes, half kids splash pool! Arrive just as the hour-long session starts and find the six-lane speed float-rope lanes packed! Jump in the furthest fast lane and make a start.
The weather outside is spectacular; the air temperature in the pool building is unbearable, and the water temperature is boiling! Run through an initial 500m and stop for a cool down. Complete a 2km swim, then take the scenic route north through the beautiful Mendips countryside into Bristol for an evening beer on the balcony with my inbox!

Review
(65/100)
Interesting pool with a fantastic local community 1980s bright leisure centre feel. The £7 entrance fee is higher than average and the lane swim sessions, whilst frequent on the timetable, are well attended.
